Adirondack Rail Trail is a great opportunity

To the editor:

My wife and I have had the good fortune to travel by foot and bike a lot in the past several years, nationally and internationally.

We have been on rail trails, foot paths and bike paths that provided a rich experience and interaction with people, place and culture. The Adirondack Rail Trail sounds like a fabulous idea whose time, hopefully, has come. The opportunity to ride all, or part, of the 90 miles through wilderness and towns, and all of the social interactions that may flow from that experience, would be an experience long remembered. I can only say that this is a great opportunity for the people and places here in the Adirondacks, and I, for one, can’t wait for this rail trail to open for four-season use.
