Yes to bike paths, no to hotel

To the editor:

Attend state Department of Transportation meetings in your area, and request a bike lane on new road work. I did this in the Finger Lakes, and now we have a bike lane around Lake Keuka. This is an area where half-century (50 mile) rides take place every year.

Start in Hammondsport up Bully Hill to Penn Yan and back to Hammondsport.

Before we had a bike lane, we would nearly be run off the road by trucks passing us at 55 mph.

Please support the “park around Lake Flower” idea instead of building a large hotel here. This would be a warm welcome for tourists and would offer the town a beautiful walking area.

Hotel Saranac and other fine accommodations meet tourist needs. Convention planners choose Lake Placid for events as they have event spaces we do not have.
