Police and fire calls

SARANAC LAKE – Village police charged Amanda J. Collins, 23, of Saranac Lake, with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Police said Collins became upset and damaged a door and a door frame, then yelled and screamed in public, causing a disturbance. She was arraigned in town of Harriestown court and released to a third party to return at a later date to answer the charges.

SARANAC LAKE – Village police charged Carlos R. Bonet, 22, of Saranac Lake, with violation of probation at 8:58 a.m. Tuesday. Police said Bonet was arrested on a warrant issued by Franklin County Court Judge Robert Main Jr. for violating a condition of his probation stemming from a 2013 conviction for fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. State police assisted village police in transporting Bonet to Franklin County Court in Malone for arraignment.

TUPPER LAKE – Village police charged Jesse Marsh, 34, of Tupper Lake, with second-degree harassment at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the charge stems from an altercation on Demars Boulevard on July 12. Marsh was issued a criminal summons to appear in village court July 28.

TUPPER LAKE – The Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to three fire alarms at Sunmount, 2445 state Route 30, in a span of 24 hours. The first alarm activation was at 1:36 p.m. Monday. Firefighters said a Sunmount consumer intentionally pulled the alarm, and no action was taken. Firefighters were called back to the facility at 8:47 p.m. Monday for what proved to be a false alarm. A third alarm activation took place at 1:21 p.m. Tuesday. It was determined to be a false alarm, and no action was taken.

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential fire alarm at 35 Chickadee Lane at 1:27 a.m. today with one truck and three members. The alarm had malfunctioned. Firefighters were back in service at 1:52 a.m.
