Fire calls

LAKE PLACID – Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department responded Sunday at 4:35 p.m. to a commercial fire alarm activation at 2548 Main St., the Mountain View Inn. Two trucks and 18 members responded. The alarm activation was determined to be unfounded, and the fire department was back in service at 5:09 p.m.

LAKE PLACID – Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department responded at 6:43 p.m. to a residential fire alarm activation at 4 Margaret Place, a residence. One truck and 15 members responded. The cause was determined to be an accidental alarm activation, and the department was back in service at 6:55 p.m.

SARANAC LAKE – Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded at 6:17 p.m. to a alarm activation at 122 Broadway, an apartment house. The cause of the alarm was determined to be burnt food, and no further action was needed. The department was back in service at 6:32 p.m.
