Francis “Kenny” Bombard, 86, of Tupper Lake, died Thursday July 31, 2014, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born March 1, 1928, in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Israel and Dora (Cusson) Bombard.
He attended school in Tupper Lake. He married Barbara Barber on June 29, 1949, at St. Alphonsus Church here in Tupper Lake; they were married for 60 years. They had six children. He married Beulah Pickering on Oct. 28, 2011.
Mr. Bombard worked for Frechette Construction, owned and operated his own Chevron and Atlantic gas stations, and worked for Kavanaugh Trucking until his retirement.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes, spending time with his grandchildren, and most of all riding his Gold Wing motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah; daughters Cynthia Nadeau of Plattsburgh, Anna Rodrigue of Saratoga Springs, Donna (Jack) Fuller of Norwood and Elaine (Roger) Gray of Morrisville; one son, Jeffrey (Karen) of Tupper Lake; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Rosalie (Alberti) (Leo) Dunn, Mary Bombard and Leona Bombard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; his son, Francis; brothers Alfred and Gordon; and a sister, Evelyn Trombley.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4 at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake. Burial will follow in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
